The real talk

Pan mee is those lovely handmade wheat noodles, either torn flat or cut, usually served in a clear ikan bilis (anchovy) soup with minced pork, mushroom and sayur manis. In soup form it is a sensible bowl, around 450 calories, mostly from the noodles, with a light broth.

But watch the version you order bro. Chilli pan mee, the dry one with the pile of chilli flakes, a runny poached egg and chilli oil, jumps to around 690 calories because of all that added oil and the egg. Same noodles, very different plate. Soup pan mee is the lighter call.
