There is no single nasi campur Bali, so the calorie count depends on how many little piles you get. The Rp 15,000 warung version has rice, ayam sisit, a spoon of lawar and sambal, about 550 calories. The Rp 35,000 tourist plate in Ubud adds sate lilit, crispy chicken skin, a boiled egg, tempe and peanuts and lands closer to 900.
The parts that look small but hit hard: fried peanuts at 90 calories for a 15g spoon, chicken skin at 80 for one crispy piece, and lawar at 80 per 50g because it is grated coconut mixed with the vegetables. Sambal matah is raw shallots, lemongrass and chili but it is dressed in oil, so a spoon is about 50 calories.
The good news is the protein. Between shredded chicken, two sate lilit and the egg you are at 30g on a standard plate, which is better than most Indonesian rice plates. Sate lilit is minced fish with coconut, about 51 calories a skewer, so two of them cost less than one spoon of peanuts.
Ayam betutu versions are richer than ayam sisit versions. Betutu is chicken slow cooked in a heavy spice paste with oil, and a betutu-based plate runs about 100 calories higher than the shredded chicken one.
