Lodeh is a coconut milk dish, so the number depends on how thick the santan is. A home style Javanese lodeh uses thin coconut milk and lands around 160 a bowl. A warteg lodeh that has been sitting in a tray of thick santan all morning with a layer of oil on top is closer to 220. A Padang style gulai sayur with the same vegetables is 250 or more. Same chayote, three different numbers.
The vegetables are the good part and they are nearly free: 120g of labu siam, kacang panjang and terong is about 40 calories. The tempe cubes are worth keeping, 30g gives you 3g protein for about 50 calories. What you can control is the broth. A 100ml ladle of thin santan broth is about 70 calories, and the warteg gives you two ladles if you let them.
At Rp 3,000 to 5,000 a scoop next to rice, lodeh is the default vegetable at a warteg, and a rice plate with lodeh and telur balado is about 550 calories. That is fine. Where it stops being fine is lontong sayur or lontong cap go meh, where the lodeh is the whole bowl and the santan is thicker, and the meal is 450 to 800.
Sayur asem is the same vegetables in a tamarind broth at 80 a bowl, half of lodeh. If the warteg has both, that is the easy swap. If they only have lodeh, ask for the vegetables and less kuah and you get most of the benefit.
