The label is honest, and the number is 380 per pack. Most of that is the noodle block itself, about 300 calories, because instant noodles are flash fried in palm oil before they are dried. The seasoning sachets add about 80 more: the oil sachet is about 45 calories, the kecap manis 25, the chili and shallot the rest.
The problem is nobody eats one dry pack. The standard warkop order is 'Indomie goreng telur' at Rp 10,000 to 15,000, and the egg is fried in more oil, so that is 75 to 100 calories on top. Add a slice of cheese (about 60) or a kornet spoon (about 70) and you are at 600. Indomie goreng double with telur and kornet is 900 calories, and it is 11pm.
Protein is the weak point. One pack is 8g, the egg brings it to 14g. For 455 calories that is low, which is why you are hungry again in two hours. Two packs is not the fix, that is 760 calories for 16g protein. Two eggs on one pack is 530 calories for 20g protein and holds much better.
If you add the full oil sachet plus your own oil for the egg, the pack is about 19g fat, which is around 40% of the calories. Draining the noodles properly and skipping half the oil sachet takes about 25 calories off. Small, but free.
